Last week, Jeb and I attended the NBA Finals here in Oklahoma City! As everyone knows, it was the OKC Thunder vs. Miami Heat...Kevin Durant vs. LeBron James! I have never been to the finals of any professional sporting event so I was SUPER excited for the opportunity. Right before we left the house, Reid had one of his breath-holding spells, turned blue, had a seizure from lack of oxygen...then didn't take a breath for about 40 seconds. I had to give him CPR/rescue breaths and it was the most terrifying experience of my life. Needless to say, after this Jeb and I weren't in the mood to Thunder Up! Thankfully, my grandparents volunteered to keep the kids instead of our babysitter and assured us that we wouldn't have to worry about the kids. After much debate, we decided to head to Game 1 of the NBA Finals at Chesapeake Arena!
.....
My dad has four season tickets on the first row behind the Thunder bench, so Jeb and I have gone to almost every game this season. The games are such a BLAST! The atmosphere is amazing and when you sit that close you start to feel like you really know the players...you get to know their personalities...especially after the player meet & greet that we get to attend. When we got to the game on Tuesday night, the arena was all "blued out!" It was like you could just feel the excitement in the air as soon as we walked down onto the court.

We eat down at the Courtside Club and Bar before every game. Dinner is served until the end of the first quarter and then dessert is available until after half time. They serve an amazing buffet and always have the most beautiful ice sculptures.
.....
And not to mention the delicious desserts! This night they served my favorite...strawberries and a vanilla pudding sauce with whipped cream served in a champagne glass...it is to DIE FOR!
.....
Super cute FINALS sugar cookies!

Another ice sculpture surrounded by shrimp on ice

Jeb...getting his game face on!

This is our in-seat menu. Where we sit we have a waitress the entire game who brings us drinks and snacks.

This is our waitress at the game, Jamie. She has become my friend and I absolutely LOVE her!

Ready to RUMBLE!

The arena was covered with "The Finals" logo.

One of my very favorite guys...my daddy!

.....
Mom and Dad absolutely LOVE going to the games! They have become Thunder FANATICS!!!
.....
Here come the boys...
.....
K.D. - ready for his first Finals experience!
.....
.....
This is Jessica Sanchez, the runner-up this year on American Idol. My parents love American Idol and my dad was more pumped up about her singing the anthem than about the actual game!! She did an AMAZING job!
.....
.....
Derek Fisher
.....
.....
K.D.'s mom, dad, and grandma - I love seeing what she wears to each game. She definitely is always a stand-out!
.....
The big guy himself - LeBron
.....
D. Wade
.....
.....
Russell Westbrook always sits in this chair on the end of the bench. One of the trainers' jobs is to take the label off of his Dasani water bottle because he has a contract with Ozarka. I think that is so crazy! Russ will always be drinking out of the water bottle with no label!
.....
We have had such a good time going to the games - our Thunder date nights have been nothing less than perfect!
.....
Western Conference Champs!!!

Russ's shoes :)

Shane Battier
.....
Who else, but Lil Wayne!!!! He finally made his appearance at one of the games...and wore his Beats almost the entire game.

Game 1...THUNDER WIN!!!
.....
.....
This guy is a "famous" NBA fan. He has season tickets to several NBA teams and usually goes to all of the Lakers games. He always dresses very eccentric and sits right on the court. This year he has started coming to some Thunder games.

Dad purchased these Durant and Westbrook pieces for his office from the Thunder Cares Foundation auction. He was so proud of them!

What an amazing season! Although we fell short of winning the championship, the team did such a great job and really brought the state of Oklahoma together as one! Some states have several professional sporting teams to cheer for, but for Oklahoma, the Thunder is it! We have so much love for this team and everyone in OK is THUNDER PROUD!! Going to these games has truly been some of the best times that I've ever had, and I'm so thankful for my father who got us these wonderful seats. Our family is pretty crazy about the OKC Thunder and even my kids have gone Thunder crazy! Reid AND LilliAnn know almost all of the players by first and last name, Reid had his 4th birthday at one of the games, and they both love watching the games at the arena and on t.v. Before we left for the game Tuesday night Reid said, "Mom, make sure the Thunder win, ok?" We have Thunder shirts, shorts, dresses, pictures, basketballs, cups, hats, pajamas, socks, bags, backpacks, wall decals, flags, and even a Rumble bobblehead! Yes, we're Thunder fanatics and we already can't wait until next season!
