So here it is. Rush's first birthday post. A little late, and mostly in pictures, in true third child fashion - hope you enjoy…we sure did!
…..
Lucky ONE! Rushton's first birthday was absolutely AMAZING! I have been thinking about his first birthday theme since the day he was born. I knew that I wouldn't always be able to pull off the St. Patrick's Day theme for my March 17th, St. Patty's Day baby, so I would have to "go green" for his very first party! I did a little research on Pinterest and came up with the theme "Lucky ONE" and I ran with it! I started ordering things on Etsy months before the party, and slowly everything started to come together. After several days of prep work (and several trips to Hobby Lobby!) my vision finally started to come to life…and I could not have been more pleased with how it all turned out! I decorated and did most everything myself, so I was super excited with the final results!
…..
The table looked AMAZING!
…..
I was so pleased with all of the details!
…..
…..
This is Rush the night before the party…he was trying out the photo booth props!
…..
We were all so excited for the party! The kids were counting down the days, and on Friday they all wore their green to school!
…..
I am NOT crafty…I'd rather buy things any day rather than make them, but here is one of my Pinterest projects I did. I was super easy and turned out SO cute!
…..
And all of the food had to be St. Patrick's Day themed, of course! How precious is this kiwi clover I constructed?!
…..
My super cute Dollar Tree finds!
…..
I ordered these green moccs from Etsy. They were perfect for the big day!
…..
Party time! My babysitter, Jess, and her friend Maddie helped me with the food prep the night before the party, and then came to celebrate with us!
…..
Granny Carol made shamrock turkey, ham, and chicken salad sandwiches!
…..
…..
Cake Diva made the cutest green cupcakes with Lucky Charms on top!
…..
This is another one of my Pinterest creations! Super easy and so yummy - pretzels, Rolos, and green M&M's!
…..
My cookie girl in OKC hit a home run with these adorable cookies! And everyone could not get over how good they tasted!!
…..
Shamrock rice krispy treats! These were kind of tough to make, but so worth the work!
…..
I knew that I would have a lot going on on the table, so I wanted a sweet, simple first birthday cake. I had the topper custom made from an Etsy shop, and Cake Diva make the cake!
…..
Shamrock suckers!
…..
The pink high chair from LilliAnn's first birthday was painted white, and it worked perfectly!
…..
Goodie bags filled with green bubbles, gold coins, green "Lucky Duckies," and green footballs. I also made green glitter, lime scented play-doh in the shape of shamrocks for party favors! The play-doh was a huge hit!
…..
Rush's birthday board was perfect!
…..
This is one of my favorite things! These are Rush's footprints from the hospital on the day he was born. They are in the shape of a shamrock with an Irish blessing printed underneath them. The perfect keepsake for a St. Patrick's Day baby!
…..
The cutest birthday crown!
…..
I kind of went overboard with the photo booth props! But we LOVE photo booth pics!!
…..
It looked like a leprechaun threw up all over my mom and dad's house! Everything was green!
…..
My Aunt Glenda made her famous creme filled chocolate covered strawberries…with some green glam, of course!
…..
Every first birthday needs stickers and tattoos!
…..
gold coins and green glitter shamrock candy
…..
We even had green spinach dip with green guacamole tortilla chips! I was so excited when I saw the bag of green tortilla chips at Walmart that I screamed!
…..
…..
…..
The most delicious green punch!
…..
And this green Hawaiian punch was a huge hit with the kids!
…..
We had to keep with the theme and do green fruit kabobs!
…..
Leprechaun Lunch
…..
My very best friend in the entire world! She's so good to us!
…..
Sleepy boy…I couldn't get Rush to nap all day, and then he fell asleep right as his party was supposed to start, of course! I had another outfit he was supposed to wear, but I didn't want to make him too fussy by changing him, so I decided to just let him wear what he already had on since it matched the party decor!
…..
I love him more than I ever knew possible.
…..
Granny Carol and my sweet Lil
…..
Reid helped me try out the photo booth! I absolutely love this picture!
…..
We had so much fun dressing up!
…..
…..
The birthday boy in his leprechaun hat!
…..
…..
The Rollins Ruckus celebrating our "lucky ONE!"
…..
I'm not Irish, but he still kissed me :)
…..
…..
He loved playing with all of the fun party stuff!
…..
Rush's giant birthday cupcake…Lucky Charms for my little lucky charm!
…..
One of my favorite pictures of the party decor - I still can't believe how great it all turned out!
…..
I thank the Lord every single day for blessing me with this third baby. I knew that our family wasn't complete without him, and I prayed for this precious baby boy. He has made me so much more…so much happier…he has completed me. He will forever be my baby.
…..
…..
kisses for our Rushy
…..
…..
I was really surprised that he didn't dig right in to his cupcake. He was kind of hesitant at first. He was super sleepy and cranky, so he wasn't really in the mood for cake tasting!
…..
not sure what to think about the icing...
…..
…..
thinking that it tastes pretty good...
…..
…..
then decided that he was over this whole high chair thing, and he'd rather listen to the Barney song on Papa's iPhone...
…..
Barney and Birthdays - does it get any better for a one year-old?!
I love this photo because: lipstick from mommy's kisses is on his cheek, he's holding an iPhone which shows his generation, and he's watching Barney - his favorite character at one year-old!
…..
…..
…..
He sure does love his Papa!
…..
Rachel, Mica, and Amanda - love these girls!
…..
I rarely get pictures with my kids, so I made it a point to get a few shots with Rush on his first birthday! They aren't perfect, but I love every single shot!
…..
…..
silly boy!
…..
…..
He would point at the flame and say, "OT!" Then he would try to touch it, and he would get so mad because it was hot and he couldn't touch it!
…..
Tripp Tucker and Rush Rollins! These two are just ten days apart!
…..
…..
He looks so big in these shots!
…..
…..
Hangin' out with Parker!
…..
…..
…..
…..
Daddy can always make him smile!
…..
my beautiful cousin Mica
…..
Rollins boys! They love Papa Jeff!
…..
Gam-Ma Missy
…..
…..
I think he liked pushing Reid's scooter around more than opening presents!
…..
sweet Nana Karen
…..
We rented a bounce house for the kids. Rush wasn't so sure of it, but the big kids sure liked it!
…..
…..
Aspyn and Reid - best buds
…..
He loved the green punch…who wouldn't?!
…..
…..
Twins!
…..
…..
…..
Third time's a charm #baby3
…..
Party pooper! It's exhausting turning ONE!
…..
However, we kept the party going for a few days longer! The next day, we were still playing with the photo booth props!!
…..
…..
And on Rushy's real birthday, St. Patrick's Day, the kids rocked their new shamrock shirts and we partied all day long!
…..
St. Patty's Day tattoos, shamrocks, and all things GREEN!
…..
What a difference a year makes! Same shirt…same baby!
…..
our three lucky charms.
