Three weeks ago a crazy blizzard blew into Oklahoma bringing over a foot and a half of snow to Shawnee with four foot snow drifts! The night of the storm the weathermen were all over the television, full force, warning everyone about what was to come. That night was very unique because there was thunder and lightening, but it was snowing instead of raining! It was a thunder-snow! Reid was watching the storm out the front window and asked Jeb and I, "Is it tireworks? (fireworks)."
.....
This is what we woke up to the following morning.
.....
The wind blew hard and the snow came down the entire day. We could barely see out our front window!
.....
Reid really wanted to go play in the snow, but we had to wait a couple of days before he was able to really go out in it. I wasn't able to go out with him because of LilliAnn, and Jeb had to work late during these snow days. Although most people get "snow days" during these times, because Jeb works in the oilfield there aren't any "snow days." The wells must be checked and they must keep running. My dad went with Jeb to check wells the morning that the storm hit and they decided to take my dad's jeep because they thought it would do better in all the snow. They ended up hitting a huge snow drift and getting stuck with snow up to the door handles! To make things even worse, they had to turn off the jeep because the radiator was getting too hot so they didn't have heat for a while! Thankfully, one of my dad's employees was able to wench them out with the wench truck. What an adventure!
.....
The kids and I enjoyed our "snow days" snuggled up by the fire and staying in our pajamas all day. Here's a picture of Reid eating his favorite breakfast...pancakes and sausage.
.....
.....
.....
The snow kept getting higher and higher!
.....
.....
Our back porch was covered in a snow drift that was almost as tall as Reid!
.....
.....
.....
As the snow came down, we enjoyed our day at home!
Since we weren't in a hurry and had no place to go, I took a few pics of the kids playing in the bath tub.
.....
.....
.....
He has a black eye from running into the ottoman during a "terrible two tantrum!"
.....
I blow dried his hair! How cute is he?
.....
.....
He looks so old in this picture!
.....
They play so well together...most of the time, that is!
.....
.....
very focused on his game
.....
.....
.....
We got tired of waiting on daddy to get home, so I decided to get Reid all bundled up and let him go out into the front yard, while sissy and I watched from the doorway.
.....
He kept looking out the window and saying, "it's gonna be SO cold out there!"
.....
Ready for the snow!
.....
He reminds me of the little brother on "A Christmas Story" in this picture, lol!
.....
One happy boy!
.....
It wasn't sissy's turn to go out just yet, but she really wanted to!
.....
Just look at that pitiful face...and cold red nose!
.....
.....
.....
Finally, daddy gets home and sissy gets to go out for a minute. And it was a minute...literally. It was FREEZING outside!
.....
.....
The boys decided to shovel some snow...
.....
Reid said, "We're never gonna do this. There's way too much!"
.....
Sissy supervised their work from inside.
.....
.....
Us girls stayed warm, snuggled up by the fire!
.....
.....
That night Jeb and I made the snow-packed journey to OKC to the Thunder game. We brought Reid back this hat and basketball...which he LOVED!!!
.....
.....
This picture cracks me up! LilliAnn would just lay in the floor and watch Reid dribble the basketball. It was like it had her in a trance!
.....
The next day we went to Billy & Suzanne's house and met Grayson for more snow fun! The fun started with making the perfect snowballs for a snowball fight!

Time-out for a quick pic with mommy!
.....
Next it was snowman time. Natalie helped Reid and Grayson build the coolest snowman ever!

.....
Snow Angels!!!

Smiles...
.....
Laughs...
.....
What snow days are all about!
.....
.....
my snowman!
I was attacked by snowballs!
.....
I got him back by stealing his kisses!
.....
.....
We had a blizzard blast enjoying the snow while it lasted! That blanket of white made for some fun snowball fights outside and some warm snuggles inside! There's nothing better than an excuse to spend entire days playing with my children...those days make memories to last a lifetime!
