Six months don't go. Six months please stay. This is my very favorite baby age. I love those chubby thighs and squishy cheeks. I love how you're getting so strong and are just sturdy enough that I can start carrying you on my hip. I love bouncing you my lap...you can hold yourself up, sit up well, and you fit perfectly in the crook of my neck when you lay your head on my shoulder.

You said your very first word (intentionally) this month. Dada. You've said it several times and your daddy's face lights up when he hears it. You love to laugh...you laugh all the time, especially when daddy plays peek-a-boo or when mommy dances while feeding you in your high chair. And speaking of feeding, we started solids this month. We waited almost a full six months before giving you anything but breast milk, and boy were you ready! Your first food was organic avocado and you absolutely loved it! Next it was sweet potatoes, mango, pear, apples, and carrots...all organic of course! However, the past week Papa Kelbo has given you a taste of chicken noodle soup, Ritz cracker, and chocolate chip cookie! Mommy did not approve, but Papa thought you needed a bite. You eat food about three times a day, and are nursing about every 3-4 hours. Your favorite foods are sweet potatoes and carrots! You eat them so much I just know you're going to turn orange!

Bedtime is around 9:30, and then you wake to eat around 11:30 and 4:30. You nurse again around 7 am when you wake up. You sleep in bed with mommy and daddy, and I absolutely LOVE those little feetsies tucked into my side and that sweet little head nestled next to mine. Daddy says that when you wake up at 11 for a snack, he tries to give you the pacifier and you hit it out of his hand. Only mommy's milk will satisfy your midnight craving! You do still take a paci, just not as often. You still love your WubbaNub, but more so as a lovie and something for comfort, rather than as a paci.

You are ALWAYS all smiles! Every time someone talks to you, even a stranger, you flash the cutest smile! Everyone tells me that you are the happiest baby. And I love hearing that because it's true, Rush. You ARE a happy baby! Cruising around the couch blowing raspberries...six months don't go. I cannot believe how advanced you are for your age! You were army crawling at four months, crawling on your hands and knees at, sitting up well, and pulled up for the first time at five months, now at 6 months you are cursing around the furniture and holding on to things/pulling up with one hand! Today you let go of my legs and stood alone in the middle of the living room for four seconds! Reid and I both screamed because we could not believe it! You are extremely mobile these days, and you travel from room to room in the blink of an eye. I couldn't find you last week and you had crawled from the living room all the way to LilliAnn's room. You love playing in there because she entertains you with her Barbies and baby dolls. When you interact and play, you seem so much older than six months. Tonight, you were pulling up on your toy basket in the living room and getting different toys out to play with. You are such a smart and curious child!
I've said it before, but I feel like you have always been so good at communicating. I always know exactly what you want. You blow raspberries when you're tired, and you throw yourself back or hang with your head upside down when you want to lay down in bed.
Nursing has become interesting lately. You don't like a blanket over your head any longer, and you like to be active while you're eating. You want to pat my chest, play with my necklace, kick your feet, pull at my shirt, or stand up whole you nurse. The other two didn't start doing these things until around nine months old!

This past weekend was the first night that you've ever stayed away from mommy. We went and spent the night in OKC for my birthday and you stayed with Naba Karen. She said you did great, and only woke up once in the early morning to take a bottle. I pumped to make sure you had enough milk, and Nana said you were the perfect baby for her!

Reid and LilliAnn absolutely ADORE you! They tote you around all over the house! I was in the bath the other day and here comes Reid and LilliAnn…pushing you in the Pottery Barn baby stroller. You were surrounded by stuffed animals and baby dolls and had the biggest grin on your face! LilliAnn calls you "Rushy poo" and her "precious, darlin' best baby." You love playing in big sister's bedroom because her basket of baby dolls is so interesting to you! You love pulling up and digging through the basket, and you even like pulling up on the baby doll stroller in her room. Reid is such a good big brother and always takes care of you. He worries about you and brings you to me if you fall down or hit your head (which has been happening a LOT lately since you started pulling up!) He always wants you to hang out on the couch and watch T.V. with him or in his bed with him at night.

You are starting to really notice your bear when we take pictures now, and you love playing with him! You grab him, hug him, and try to eat him! It's so fun to watch your personality change each month…and this month you are noticeably bigger than Mr. Thunder bear!
