The Great State Fair of Oklahoma

One of the things that I just love about life is the state fair! Last Sunday I woke up at 6:30 a.m. so we would be able to get to the fair when it opened. I told Jeb that we only get to go once a year so we have to spend the entire day there. I don't think he was as excited as I was, especially since I got him a Disney on Ice ticket too! Our entire family went to the fair with us including my mom and dad, brother, Aunt Johnna, Grayson and his friend Michael, Uncle Terry and Aunt Glenda, cousin William and his wife Karen and kids Audri and Eli, brother-in-law Josh and wife/cousin Lacee and son Jett, Grandma Lucy and Papa Glenn, Uncle Tommy and Aunt Gayla and daughter Amy and grand-daughter Emma. I ate so much food on a stick I could barely breath! Some of the things we ate included fried cheese on a stick, chicken on a stick, cotton candy, strawberry crepes, Gyros (Jeb ate this), twisty taters, roasted corn, ice cream, and sweet potato fries.

He was fascinated by Disney on Ice, especially the first part with Cars.

Reid had been awake since 8 a.m. and he ususally doesn't wake up until about 10:30 or 11 a.m. so I knew a nap was inevitable. At least it was during the Tinker Bell part.

Picking up the ducks were his favorite thing of the day. He would say "ack ack" and then hand them to me. Of course he didn't care about the prize, he just wanted to pick up the ducks and play in the water. We should've done this first and skipped Disney on Ice :)

The Baby Bump

Belly at 5 weeks!
~
Ok, so I really don't think my belly is as big as it looks in the 9 weeks picture. I like I was turned a little more forward in that picture :)

Labor Day at the Lake

We spent Labor Day at the lake and, like always, had a fabulous time! My mom and Aunt Johnna planned a big campout complete with tents, sleeping bags, and smores, but the campout ended up in the middle of the new lake cabin. Jeb, Reid, and I slept in the bed up at Grandma and Grandpa's house while mom, dad, Kassidy, and Grayson stayed on the concrete floors of our unfinished lake cabin. They even hauled a mattress from one of the beds at Grandma's down to our cabin on the Gator! I don't think this really counts as camping out :) although we did still have a camp fire with some yummy smores. I didn't take many pictures this weekend but did manage to snap a few of Reid having fun on the water.

Britney is BACK!

Last week Kari and I went to the Britney Spears concert, The Circus Tour, in Tulsa. We met Julie and Cash for dinner then headed to the BOK Center to see the Legendary Britney Spears! I bought a Britney shirt, tote bag, and even a little onesie that says "Oops I did it again!" (just in case we have a little girl). We went to see Britney when she came to OKC in 2002 and it was such an amazing show we just had to go see her again. I'm usually not a person who goes crazy over celebrities, but when it comes to Brit I get outrageously excited!

At this point I was so excited I was about to pee my pants, literally!

She sang the Alanis Morissette song, "You Oughta Know," and it was fantastic! It was my favorite part of the show.

Definitely a highlight of my year and a great way to end the summer. And yes, if Britney ever has a concert near Oklahoma again I will so be there :)
