Splish, Splash!

.....
Our family just LOVES taking a bath! Reid's always loved to get in the bath tub and now it's one of LilliAnn's favorite things to do too! They probably got their love for baths from their mama because it's not unusual for me to take three baths a day. I get in the bath every morning when I wake up and every night before bed. There's something very relaxing about a warm bath and a good book. I love to snack while I'm in the tub, and especially like eating popsicles in the bath tub...Schwan's frozen strawberry bars or fruit pops are my favorite! One of Reid's very first words was "pop" and he used to go get in the freezer and get a popsicle every time he wanted to take a bath! It's also always been hard to get him to eat, so when he was younger we would put him in the tub and feed him because that's the only place we could get him to really eat!
.....
A few weeks ago the kids were playing in the bath and they were so adorable that I couldn't help but take a few pictures to capture the moment. This is a picture of their precious little footsies!
.....
.....
Our most recent "thing" is to "draw R.D." in the bath tub (I've explained before that Reid calls drawing or coloring drawing R.D. I guess because when we write his name we say "R.E.I.D.").
.....
He's probably drawing a choo choo trai, railroad tracks, a baseball, or an animal.

She loves to turn the water on & off. When Reid was this age he loved to do this too. The hot water handle would get hot and I would say "No no Reid. Hot." At about 9 months old he started touching the handle and saying "ot!"

8 Months of Lil: Santa Baby

.....
Two weeks ago our LilliAnn turned 8 months old! Her biggest accomplishment this month is being able to stand alone! She started letting go while she would cruise around the furniture a few weeks ago and the past week she's been standing up/getting up on her feet from right in the middle of the floor! She's even taken a step a few times. Every time she stands up on her own Reid yells, "sissy's standing up!" Then he starts clapping and looks at her and says, "Yay Sissy! Good job Sis!" It's the cutest thing ever! Her vocabulary has also expanded. She's now saying mama, dada, nana, and drink. She LOVES water and I'm so glad because Reid has never been a water drinker. We really have to work to get him to drink water, so I'm so happy that Lil likes it so much. I'm going to try and not introduce juice to her for a while hoping that she'll continue to prefer water. As far as eating goes...yes, she's still nursing ALL NIGHT LONG! However, it has gotten a little better the past week because I was about to lose my mind and decided that I had to put her in her bed. So...I nurse her to sleep, then put her down in her bed, and she's been waking about two to three more times to "pacify." I try and put her back in her crib after I get her back to sleep, but sometimes I'm just so tired I leave her in our bed. I've also been letting herself fuss a little bit in her crib to put herself back to sleep. I'm getting better at this than I was with Reid!

I can't believe that my little bundle of joy is growing up so fast. I feel like time even passes more quickly when you have two little munchkins to take care of all day. I'm so excited for this week - LilliAnn's very first Christmas! My goal is to not be overwhelmed by all the chaos and to enjoy the little moments! This post was a little short, but I promise a more lengthy post about Lil for her 9 month update...when all the "hustle & bustle" of the holidays is over!

Little Joys

"It's crazy right here mom! I better scoot over! My underwear are soooo wet!" (Reid talking about laying in the wet spot after he woke up and realized he peed the bed)

Reid's last words before falling asleep: "(sigh) I'm downloaded!"

"Momma! Sissy scatched (scratched) me and it berry (very) hurt."

Reid picking up the phone and dialing numbers... "hello? Santa Claus? Go away!"

Me: "Reid if you don't sit in Santa's lap and tell him what you want then you won't get any toys."
Reid: "Well, I already got toys!"

Driving through Sulphur:
"Roll up the window! Shoo!"
(he gets up & down confused!)

Daddy Caught a Deer!

 .....
A few weeks ago Jeb got his very first deer! He was so excited that we wanted me to meet him with Reid so he could show it to him before he took it to the processor. It wasn't a very big deer - and Jeb was kind of embarrassed, but he was just really excited to finally get to shoot one! His dad and brother hunt more often and they gave Jeb a pretty hard time about shooting such a little buck!
.....
Jett, the little country boy, was way more into it than Reid. He knew exactly what to do...hold up the antlers and say "cheese!"
.....
Jeb's First Deer (poor little deer)
.....
 Reid's checking it all out
.....
He's like his momma - he's thinking, "this is so not right."

He gives this deer one thumb up!

A Night Out with a BIG Purple Dinosaur!

.....
Two weeks ago we took the kids to the Barney Live Concert for Barney's Birthday Bash! Reid has absolutely LOVED Barney since he was a baby and still watches Barney almost every day. He knows all the songs and dances and even the words to a lot of the Barney movies we have! I'm a pretty big fan of the big purple guy myself. Kassidy always watched Barney when he was little so I know all the songs and dances just like Reid does. Barney is very educational and teaches great life lessons, so I was thrilled when I found out he was coming to OKC! I got a special promotional code from a friend to order tickets early and even bought meet & greet VIP passes for the kids could meet Barney. Reid does NOT like Santa this year so I was kind of worried that the Barney meet & greet would be a bust. Weeks before the show I would always ask Reid, "who are we going to see in two weeks?" and he would say, "BARNEY!!!" I think I was just as excited about Barney as he was. Wow...it used to be Britney, not it's Barney - yep, kids will change you!
.....
We were escorted to a room with only about six other kids and their parents so the meet & greet was a really intimate setting. We were sitting in the chairs at the end so when Barney walked in he walked right towards us and held out his arms. Reid immediately got up and went and hugged him. It was the most precious moment EVER!!! I even got a little emotional! It was like Reid was getting to meet someone that he had known for so long, but had never met in person.
.....
.....
Seeing Barney for the first time! LilliAnn was waving "Hi!"
.....
Reid's face when Barney first walked in the door. He was still a little unsure about the whole thing!
.....
We got to meet Riff too!
.....
Reid was all business! Such a serious face!
.....
Saying "bye" to Barney and Riff so they could get ready for the show!
.....
.....
.....
We bought all the souvenirs...t-shirt, stuffed Barney, light stick...
.....
Ready for the show!
.....
And we got blue cotton candy...
.....
.....
Daddy & Sissy waiting for Barney!
.....
.....
We had front row seats so our view was GREAT!!!
.....
Reid got his groove on the entire show! He danced and sang to every song and was really showing off!
.....
At one point in the show, Riff ran by and gave Reid a high five and said "that's right!" Reid then looked at me and said, "that's right!" He thought he was SOOOOO cool!
.....
.....
For the first part of the show LilliAnn was clapping her hands, bouncing up and down, and waving her arms to the music. Towards the end, she got a little fussy and was ready for bed.
.....
And of course during intermission we just had to get a balloon!
.....
Right before intermission they shot out some confetti and streamers and then sang the "clean up" song. Reid loves to clean up (and vaccum, and rake, and mow, and use Papa's leaf blower and power washer) so he went around and picked up all the confetti and said he was helping Barney pick up! Lol!
.....
 He loves him some Barney!
.....
Gettin' down with all the kids on the front row! Barney Mosh Pit!!!

.....
 .....
As we were walking to the car Reid looked up at me and said, "mommy, that was fun fun!" Seeing how happy that two year-old was when he hugged Barney, and seeing his eyes light up when that big purple dinosaur took the stage made me wish he never had to grow up. Santa may have been a bust, but Barney was a HUGE SUCCESS!!!
