Mr. Sandman

~
One of Reid's favorite places to be this summer is in his sandbox. Gam-Ma Missy bought Reid a sandbox for his first birthday a few months ago and he has absolutely LOVES playing in it! He throws the sand, digs in the sand, and yes...even EATS the sand! I'm excited to see how well Reid likes the beach when we go on our vacation to Florida next week since he enjoys playing in the sand so much. Jumping back and forth between his kiddie pool and the sandbox makes for a really messy little boy but it also makes for some pretty cute pictures too!
~

Eating the sand...licking the sand off his fingers...and YUCKY sand! ~

He would lift up the sand, throw it, and then say, "Ooohhhh!"

Batman

The other night I put Reid in his Batman pajamas and I thought he looked SUPER cute so I had to take some pictures. Jeb didn't know they were pajamas and said, "Why is he in a Halloween costume?" Dads...
..........
One of his favorite things to do is to get one of his toy golf clubs and walk around the house pushing it on the floor. I have a sparkly necklace with footballs on it I bought for the Super Bowl last year (kind of like a Mardi Gras necklace), and he usually puts that on too whenever he walks around pushing his golf club. It's hilarious and Jeb cracks up every time he puts that necklace on and grabs the driver!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Last weekend I went to Lake Texhoma to stay at the Tanglewood Resort and Spa for Logan Dearing's bachelorette party. Logan is getting married August 1st and I'm a bridesmaid in her wedding. Logan and I have known eachother since kindergarten and have been best friends since 4th grade. Her mom even switched her 4th grade teacher so she could be in the same homeroom class as Kari and I! Logan and I are still very close and I'm so excited to get to be part of her wedding. There were 17 girls who stayed in our condo and we had a blast! Most of the girls went down Friday, but since I had to work (and was the only one with a kid) I came down Saturday morning. When I walked into the condo their were girls sleeping everywhere...on beds, couches, the floor, air-mattresses, and Lizzy even slept in the giant round bathtub!

My toes...I always get my nails and toes done here in Shawnee at Nail Spa and for the past few years I've only gotten french manicure on my toes (I know, boring!). Since I was going to get a little wild and crazy I decided to do hot pink with a design (I know, so crazy right?)

This hot air balloon was outside our resort. I LOVE hot air balloons and riding in one is one my list of "things to do before I die." I think they are so romantic and it would be a dream come true to go up in a hot air balloom with the love of my life (hint hint...Jeb!).
..........

We had the most fabulous time on the girls weekend getaway and I can't wait to do it again. It is harder to do these things once you're a mother (especially when you're the only mother) because the entire time while everyone is talking about guys, or work, or clothes, I'm wondering if Reid's okay, if he's been fed, if he's acting ok. As a mother it kind of makes you feel guilty to go on little overnight trips like this, but at the same time I know it's good for Reid, Jeb, and me to get a little break and take time to relax and enjoy my friends. And yes, I'm blessed with wonderful, lifelong friends.

Wild Child

We were at the lake last week and I took this picture. I just had to post it because for anyone that doesn't know Reid, well, this is Reid in a nutshell! If I had to describe Reid without using words I would probably use this picture!

Wild and crazy, never lazy... all boy, such a joy... vivacious, tenacious.. mischievious, high maintenance ... ornery, blondie... cute as can be, persistent personality... naked as a jay bird, the one that is always heard...tan, little muscle man...Wild child, God's child

A Fabulous Fourth!

The Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays! I'm a big fan of "themes" and so I love the excuse to be all patriotic in our red, white, and blue. The night before the fourth Lacee and Jett came to spend the night and the boys played all night long. And although bedtime is a lot harder when they are together, it's nice because Lacee and I get to spend some time catching up while the boys entertain eachother.

The next day we went out to the Wewoka Lake to celebrate the fourth. For as long as I can remember I've spent the fourth of July at the lake. Our place is always full of family, friends, food, and fun and because the it is smaller, there is a wonderful small-town feel that I just love about Wewoka Lake.

~

I learned to water ski on this lake and on the 4th of July Reid learned to tube!

Not too sure about what was about to happen...

One the boat was going good and the water was out of his eyes he LOVED it!

Later that evening we had a fish fry and hung out under the pavilion. The party barge (A.K.A. Tyler Morgan's boat) dropped Stacey off for a visit.

~

Reid loves to throw EVERYTHING, so the little pops firecrackers that you throw were perfect for him. Every time he would throw one and it would pop he would go, "pop, ohhh!"
I'm such a great photographer... mid-air!

Grandma Lucy's dog Chloe is so sweet. She lets Reid hug her, kiss her, hit her, and even try and ride her! ~

We had a Fabulous Fourth of July and an Incredible Independence Day! In closing this post I would like to say a special thank you to all of those who have given their life for our country and for our independence. And to all of those currently serving in the military, you have our support and appreciation. Until next 4th of July...PEACE out!
