A few weekends ago we decided to take the boys to Great Wolf Lodge, the indoor/outdoor waterpark in Grapevine, Texas. We took my mom's Escalade ESV so we would have plenty of room. Jeb and Josh sat up front of course and Lacee and I sat in back with Jett and Reid. I was afraid that the 3 hour ride there would be a nightmare with two toddlers, but it actually went really well. They both slept for about an hour and then ate snacks while watching Baby Einstein and Singing Toddler tunes. Then we decided to watch the movie Madagascar 2. The menu of the movie plays the song "I like to move it, move it" and the boys absolutely LOVED that song! We had to keep playing the movie menu over and over again because Reid would scream when it went off and Jett would say, "I want move it, move it."
Here's our version of the music video "Move it, Move it" - Featuring Jett Rollins and Reid Rollins

The first day we played mostly indoors in the toddler area.

The toddler area was a water wonderland for little boys full of slides, water squirters, and water fountains.

On Sunday night, one of my very best friends, Emily, who lives in Dallas, came over to have dinner with us!
~
Every night at bedtime the kids come down to the lobby in their pajamas and the lodge has a person read a bedtime story, then they have a short program with talking animals and a song called "There's Nothing to be Scared of Here." You also get to have a photo op with Wiley the Wolf! This is a picture of Yellow Feather, the Native American Princess in the play.

The Lost boy in the play...kinda creepy!

Mr. Social - Reid was walking around waving and saying "Hi" to everyone!

Lacee even got to take a picture with Batman!

The next day we spent most of the day in the outdoor area. The water was a little warmer and there was a bigger wading area.

Pool time with Da Da!

One of the outdoor pools was only 2 feet deep at its deepest and Reid's favorite thing to do was to walk the entire length of the pool.

Nap time at the lodge
We had a great weekend at Great Wolf Lodge and it is definitely a place I would like to visit again. The bottom level of the lodge is like a mall and has a magic shop where kids can buy magic wands to play a game throughout the entire lodge, an ice cream themed kids spa called Scoops for mani/pedi time, a swim shop, an ice cream and dessert parlor, an arcade, a teen area with giant TV screens for gaming and internet, and even a Pizza Hut! Although the boys had a great time, one night is plenty for a toddler, as this includes two days at the waterpark. I think the ideal ages for Great Wolf is about 5 to 10 years old. 42 inches is the magic number and if you are this tall you can ride all the slides at the park. And even though the ride home wasn't as pleasant as the ride there (Jett threw up all in his carseat!) we can't wait to visit the lodge again!
