6 1/2 Months...She'll be here soon!

Getting bigger...
..........
A few weeks ago we had another appointment with Dr. Ryan to check on our baby girl. I was 24 weeks and had gained 3 pounds since my last check-up making my total weight gain about 16 pounds. Yes, I stress about my weight gain A LOT, but I gained 32 pounds with Reid and lost all of it plus more. I told myself at the beginning of this pregnancy that I would be okay with my weight gain as long as I didn't gain more than 32 pounds. My goal for this baby was 25 pounds, but it looks like I might be a little over :)
...
At this visit my blood pressure was 100/62 and the baby's heart rate was in the 150s. Dr. Ryan wanted to go ahead and tentatively schedule the c-section and wanted me to pick a date between April 9th and April 15th. My due date is on the 15th and Dr. Ryan said the earliest he would do my c-section was on the 9th. I had been thinking about this and I already had my date picked...April 10. I had picked the 10th because I knew that I would have to choose between the 9th through the 15th, and my birthday is October 10, Jeb's is June 10, and I thought that 4/10/10 would be easy for people to remember. Plus, I just really like the number 10 (I think because my birthday is 10/10). There was only one problem: April 10 was on a Saturday. I didn't think that Dr. Ryan would want to do a scheduled c-section on a Saturday but I knew it couldn't hurt to ask. So...I asked him. And he said YES! April 10th it is, but Dr. Ryan said don't get my heart set on it because my water broke with Reid a month early, and even though we don't want it to be, her birthday could be March 10. Anyway, her birthday isn't up to me, it's all in God's hands.

  1. after i read this and remembered reid's surprise arrival, i decided to go ahead and get busy on the new baby's gown. i hope you were sure you wanted it in pink because you are locked in as of today. i also ordered the little doll you said you wanted for her and a passy clip made from a vintage luggage tag.
no quilt this time. i can's take the ridicule from your other maternal aunt. i can do burp cloths with my new embroidery machine if you send me a sample of what you want (and promise to defend me to those who would make fun...
