LilliAnn's 4th Birthday. A Royal Tea.

A couple of weeks ago, LilliAnn celebrated her 4th birthday in a ROYAL way! She LOVES tea parties and she LOVES anything to do with princesses, so we decided to have a royal tea! I wanted something simple since it was two weeks after I had my c-section with Rush, so I thought a small afternoon tea party was just the type of celebration we needed! The Grangeville Rose Tea Room is a small, quaint tea room in Shawnee and I thought it would be the perfect place for a tea party fit for a princess! The owner also teaches etiquette classes, so I asked her to do a little tea party etiquette session at the party. The tables were set with "real" tea cups and hot tea, as well as tea trays complete with strawberry cream cheese and turkey sandwiches, fruit, and cheeses. All of the little girls dressed up as princesses and the party could not have been more perfect!

My grandma Lucy even dressed for the party! This is Queen Grandma Lucy with her princesses, LilliAnn and Josslynn.

Each of the girls had a princess wand and princess jewelry at her seat.

Ms. Cynthia taught the princesses how to fold their napkin, how to use their manners, and the proper way to hold a tea cup!

This was before she learned how to hold her tea cup "like a princess."

LilliAnn wanted place cards at each seat. She decided this last minute and I was panicked! I almost did something elaborate and "Pinterest-y" but then decided that I would let LilliAnn decorate them with stickers and buttons. She has an absolute blast doing this little project, and I enjoyed helping her!

Cousin Katie and Granny Carol were on baby duty!

LilliAnn got some great gifts, including three baby dolls, an art set and markers, a jewelry maker set, a princess beach towel and leopard Reef flip flops, a princess Lego set, a new lifejacket, a My Little Pony art set, a princess jewelry box, and a ballerina musical jewelry box. Nana and Papa got her a new TV for her room…that is "big like Reid's."
…..
She got so excited when everyone started singing "Happy Birthday!"
…..
And blowing out the candles was very dramatic!
…..
The chef at the tea room made the cake and cupcakes and they were SO delicious! LilliAnn wanted chocolate and it was to die for! We could not stop eating it!
